The production
Shakespeare's most enchanted comedy, played under the summer moon. Two nights only, on the Clover Cafe Outdoor Stage, with the whole company of friends and family gathered in front of it.
It was a community production in the fullest sense: it took all of us to raise it. Chairs were carried out and set in rows, costumes hung on a rack under the trees, make-up was done backstage behind a curtain of studio sheets. On the Saturday the company stayed on afterwards for a pot-luck cast party, and when the last performance was over everyone lent a hand to strike the set and put the site back the way we found it — many hands, quick work, and home under the stars.
